Eagle Farm horse racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (14:34) Girls Day Out 4 March Maiden (1200m)
#6 – Mishani Ambitious – Bet @ Picklebet
Mishani Ambitious comes off back-to-back third placings at Ipswich and Eagle Farm, so she’s worth backing.
The Les Ross-trained filly meets a moderate maiden field on Wednesday and it’s there for the taking.
Look at betting markets for any positive moves.
Race 2. (15:09) Mount Franklin C1 (1000m)
#7 – Soo Sweet – Bet @ Picklebet
Soo Sweet comes off two easy trial wins and she could hit the ground running for the Edmonds training team.
The two-year-old filly by Sooboog won trials at Gold Coast and Beaudesert, so she’s good enough to handle this field.
Bedaub won’t be easy to beat but punters could get value odds.
Race 3. (15:44) Sky Racing BM68 (2225m)
#7 – Valley’s Sister – Bet @ Picklebet
Valley’s Sister looked good when winning three back at Sunshine Coast and anything close to that run is good enough.
The seven-year-old mare comes off a second placing at Doomben and that’s another good form guide, especially for this race.
Barrier seven is fine and she should get a nice run throughout.
Race 4. (16:19) Jewel Raceday BM68 (1600m)
#3 – Merimee – Bet @ Picklebet
Merimee is getting close to posting a win after running third at Doomben last start.
The four-year-old daughter of Winning Rupert owns three wins and five placings, so she has been tough to beat throughout her career.
Barrier is ideal and Chris Waller trains.
Race 5. (16:54) XXXX Dry Maiden (1400m)
#7 – Jetpack Verdi – Bet @ Picklebet
Jetpack Verdi ran third on debut in New Zealand and that came behind Loosespender, who has form at the top level.
The four-year-old gelding meets an easy field in his Australian debut and we expect money to come for the son of Verdi.
Look for a betting push on race day as it’s likely.
Race 6. (17:29) M. Millions Gold Coast Maiden (1400m)
#1 – Fearless Knight – Bet @ Picklebet
Fearless Knight owns three placings from nine starts and he comes off consecutive trial wins.
The three-year-old son of Lonhro ran at Flemington in the Derby at his most recent start, so the form checks out beautifully.
Punters should expect short odds on race day, so take anything better than $1.60.
Race 7. (18:07) Ladbrokes Market Control BM68 (1200m)
#6 – Starzam – Bet @ Picklebet
Starzam didn’t show much fresh up but he should improve with that run under his belt.
The four-year-old gelding owns a win and placing from three starts over the distance and he should be right in the mix.
Jim Byrne rides and punters should get each-way odds.
Race 8. (18:45) Stradbroke Season on Sale C1 (1400m)
#5 – The Lion’s Gate – Bet @ Picklebet
The Matthew Dunn-trained gelding scored a gutsy win at Doomben last start and that form is good enough.
He won by 1.5 lengths as a $4.40 chance and we’re hoping for similar odds against a harder C1 field on Wednesday.
His turn-of-foot should see him win many more races.
