AAA forecasts busiest travel day since the pandemic

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WFSB) – If you’re getting ready to fly, it’ll be busy at the airport this holiday week.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be the busiest travel days, according to AAA.

Airports will likely be packed for most of the week, so give yourself plenty of time and arrive early.

Over 7 million people are expected to take to the skies this week, up nearly 7% from last year.

According to AAA, that would be the highest number of air travelers since 2005.

But they add that the flights are far from a bargain, as the average domestic price is up $681.

For international travelers, that cost is down, surprisingly enough.

When everyone heads home, Sunday is expected to be the busiest travel day.

AAA recommends holding off until Monday to avoid congestion, but odds are, your tickets are already punched.
