London’s Heathrow Airport said Tuesday that passenger numbers in June rose 18% to 7 million as transatlantic travel continued to drive passenger numbers especially in the last three days of the month as travelers headed to the U.S. to celebrate Independence Day.

The airport, which is jointly owned by the Qatar Investment Authority, China Investment Corp. and Spain’s Ferrovial among others, said its service levels had been high with security lines under five minutes across all terminals.

The airport also said that it had agreed to a two-year pay deal with staff and that this should reassure travelers that their plans won’t be affected by strikes.

Cargo volumes in June slipped 0.8% on year to 115,368 metric tons, Heathrow said.
