This six-year-old has to have a claimer of Beau Morgan on board after two straight wins and a 7lb penalty, still giving him a weight of 12-2.
The Ben Pauling-trained horse beat Dindin by five lengths last time and continues to impress over fences at this level.
He could step up in class but the Owners Group horse returns yet again to a Class 5 that’s more than winnable off 109.
2.30: Kilbeg King 11/10 (NAP)
Maiden hurdle winner in November and has huge potential going forward, but failed to get anywhere near in the steep rise in competition at Newbury in a Grade 1.
Back down in class to see how he fares and this could be very winnable if back to running to what’s expected, especially unexposed like this, slightly up in trip.
3.00: A Time To Shine 3/1
Name is very apt for this lightly raced eight-year-old who came back from a 658-day break to place fourth in a tough 3m contest at Exeter in heavy ground in January.
Placed second over 3m1f back in February 2021 at Hereford to Minella Bobo and now it could be his time to shine against a field that may string out over this tough distance.
Carlisle racing tips
2.30: Maid O’Malley 7/4
Been up against tough competition the last three but has a chance considerably back in grade.
Last time she faced a Class 3 she won by over 5l and could be dangerous over a course and distance she’s won before.
Up against La Renommee who represents the biggest threat given her chase debut, but this Stuart Coltherd-trained mare has the previous form and experience to win still.
Would be wise to keep an eye on the market before the off to see how much potential La Renommee has, with the best price currently at 9/4.
