Cantara, Ybarra lead local Boston Marathon finishers

Thomas Cantara met the challenge and then some on Monday.

The 33-year-old Cantara was the top local finisher in the 128th running of the Boston Marathon, coming in at 2:35:23, good for 235 out of 26,482 runners overall, and 219 out of 15,014 men.

Colin Cook of Brookline was next, coming in at 2:38:56, good for 386 overall.

The top local women’s finisher was Bridget Ybarra of Amherst, coming in at 3:11:43. That’s good enough for 608 overall for women.

Note: The time is “Net Time”, from when the runner crossed the start line (rather than at the gun start),and crossed the finish line.
