Boston police officers were called to Sumner Square early Sunday morning to respond to reports of a loud party.

Three people were arrested after police responded to a chaotic scene at a party in Dorchester over the weekend.

At about 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, Boston police officers were dispatched to 4 Sumner Square to respond to reports of a loud party. They found multiple vehicles parked on the sidewalk on both sides of the street, which were blocking emergency vehicle access, according to BPD.

There was loud music playing, and police saw a group of about 70 people at the party. The group was told multiple times to leave, which they refused to do, police said.

Luca Delguado Santos, 20, of Mattapan, was seen “enticing the crowd” by playing music from a portable speaker. Police approached him and told him to turn the music off. He then swung the speaker at an officer and struck them in the knee, according to BPD.

As police grabbed the speaker from Santos, they were allegedly surrounded by a large crowd. Stephanie Ilma, 24, also of Mattapan, then “became extremely aggressive” toward officers and refused their orders to step back. When they attempted to arrest her, she grew combative and punched multiple officers, police said. She was placed in handcuffs after a “violent struggle.” A taser was found in her purse.

During this altercation, Santos allegedly tried to intervene in Ilma’s arrest by jumping on top of officers. He refused orders to stop and was eventually also placed in handcuffs, police said.

Miguel Martinez, 20, of Boston, then “began to entice the crowd” that had formed around the officers. They told him to leave the area, which he refused, and Martinez was then arrested as well, BPD officials said.

Santos, Ilma, and Martinez are set to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Santos was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, interfering with a police officer, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace.

Ilma was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm (the taser), assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, interfering with a police officer, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace.

Martinez was charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and interfering with a police officer.
