Global law firm Goodwin today announced that a leading team of five technology and life sciences partners have joined the firm in its Boston office.

Pat Mitchell, Michael McGrail, Giselle Rivers, Harley Brown have joined the Technology practice, and Josh Rottner has joined the Life Science practice. All five partners have practiced together as a team for over a decade.

  • Pat Mitchell counsels growth-stage companies in industries ranging from software, artificial intelligence and hardware, to healthcare technology and ecommerce. He represents leading technology focused growth equity, private equity and venture capital firms in connection with acquisitions, portfolio investments, and matters relating to their portfolio companies.
  • Michael McGrail represents company and investor clients in a wide range of corporate legal projects, including M&A, private financings, and corporate partnerships. He counsels companies and investors in various industries, with a particular focus on medical devices and healthcare technology.
  • Giselle Rivers represents high-growth companies in the technology, media, e-commerce, and consumer product industries. She advises clients throughout their lifecycle on general corporate law matters and complex transactions, including debt and equity financings, strategic partnerships and M&A. She regularly represents venture capital and private equity investors.
  • Harley Brown represents high-growth technology companies from formation through exit, primarily in the software, fintech, legaltech, artificial intelligence, and security areas. He also regularly represents venture capital and growth equity funds in their investments in these companies.
  • Josh Rottner counsels high-growth life sciences, healthcare and technology companies from their formation through an initial public offering or M&A exit. He also has extensive experience representing venture capital, growth equity and crossover funds in their portfolio company investments and acquisitions in the healthcare and technology industries, as well as advising public companies in public offerings, Securities and Exchange Commission periodic reporting and compliance, and M&A transactions.
