Boston homicide detectives are investigating the death of a person in West Roxbury Tuesday morning, police said.

Boston police went to 1810 Centre St., the address for a shopping center in West Roxbury that houses a Starbucks, Roche Bros Grocery Store and Brookline Bank, at 7:42 a.m. Tuesday for an unknown emergency medical call, Officer Michael Torigian, a department spokesman, told MassLive. When officers arrived, they found a person and declared them dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives went to the area, a step taken when police believe a death is suspicious, Torigian confirmed.

The state medical examiner’s office will make a determination on whether or not the death was a homicide, Torigian said.

No further information was immediately available, according to Torigian.
