President Joe Biden will be in Boston and Nashua, New Hampshire today.

Biden will be in Boston for two campaign events, one at 5 p.m. and another at 7:30 p.m. He will then head back to Washington via the Boston Logan Airport. Before Biden’s Boston commitments, he will be traveling to Nashua to talk about what has been called the PACT Act at the Westwood Park YMCA.

Biden was last in Massachusetts in December 2023, for a fundraising event that ended with a James Taylor concert.

How will Biden’s visit impact Boston traffic?

The Boston Police Department said to expect road closures and traffic delays around Logan, the Back Bay area and Seaport due to the president’s visit from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

What is the PACT Act?

The PACT Act is a law that Biden signed into law in August 2022.

It helps veterans receive key benefits because of a burn pit, Agent Orange or other toxic exposure they experienced when they served.

Burn pits are where chemicals, tires, plastics, medical equipment and human waste were disposed of on military bases. They were used in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The White House said more than 1 million claims have been granted to veterans since Biden signed the PACT Act into law nearly two years ago.
