Police arrest 2 men, seize guns, drugs, and more than $7,700

Two search warrants were carried out in Mattapan Saturday resulting in the arrest of two men as well as the seizure of guns, drugs and more than $7,700 in cash, according to officials.

Police arrested 29-year-old Angel Ruiz of Roxbury on Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan, according to a statement from Boston police. Officers said they found him in possession of crack cocaine.

Police also searched his home on Almont Street, according to officials. There, police said, they also arrested Raymond Richardson, 55, of Mattapan.

Inside Ruiz’s home, police said they found a Ruger 357 revolver, a 9-millimeter AR pistol, a 50-round drum magazine, a 40-round high-capacity magazine, a 15-round high-capacity magazine, 180 rounds of ammunition, around 30 grams of crack cocaine, about 10 grams of fentanyl and $7,736 in cash.

Ruiz faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, and trafficking Class A and Class B drugs, according to police.
